Yes you're right.. The technology is not important, it's just about
    having
all the things you need in one place.. And on facebook you have your
social network (or part of it) in one place. E-mail would also be great, it's just something you should get used to.

I'm not getting younger and sometimes lose track of all the names -- Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc., ad nauseam.

A reminder that the Iditarod starts on March 6th. The race follows the Northern route this year which may make it tougher than the Yukon Quuest was.

That's way too cold for me.

ayou will be able to follow the race and get pre-race news from http://www.iditarod.com.

I'll look forward to that and thanks for the reminder.

Incidentally, the Quest was very good to me! I won the first prize of the Quest Raffle, $10,000CAN, on Saturday, February 20. You can see a picture of me ringing the bell at the Gold Rush Inn in Whitehorse on Sunday, February 21 on my Facebook page.

Some people have all the luck. Congrats! As an aside, I don't spend much time
on Facebook anymore and haven't since the middle of last year.

My sentiments exactly. There are really too many places to divulge personal information on the 'net.

Well it's just the concept, there are some people of which I appreciate
the status updates, but also some people where I would rather be without
    them.

I think, I can easily live without facebook. I am just using it because
    I am on it.

    I missed the start.

And you may have missed the finish too. :-) Lance Mackey won his 4th Iditarod in a row [ a new record] yesterday afternoon, taking just under 9 days to finish the race.

You'd be correct about that. Although my TV works, I've had intermittent problems on the computer here. As an example, I began an email to Duffy a week
or so ago and haven't finished it yet. Other things keep getting in the way.

Then they could do the same thing in email. Personally, I don't see the need for multi-sites to stay in touch with others, although my favorite concert pianist from Russia, who now lives in Germany with her husband, no longer corresponds with me via email. They prefer Facebook and I told them I don't. I
suppose they like it for the pictures users post of themselves so you get an idea of what the person you're writing to looks like. That doesn't mean it's them or a current photo of them.

I think, I can easily live without facebook. I am just using it because
    I am on it.

When I think about it, I believe I'll go there and remove my account. I'm there sparingly anyway.
