• Is there anyone here?

From Steven Horn@1:17/67 to All on Tue Mar 8 00:33:03 2011
    Hello All!

The Yukon Quest is over and the Iditarod is now on. But is there anyone here to take note of these events?

I'd like to think I'm not here alone.

    Take care,

It sounds like quite a race.. Reading the history of it was very interesting :)

Oh - I'm here by the way... though not Canadian.. My brother is a citizen of Canada though <smile>.. I hope that counts for something :)

Good to see your post Steven :)

    take care,

It is quite the race (as is the Yukon Quest). According to my latest bulletin,
the 2nd place team is only 51 minutes behind the leader.

There is no citizenship requirement here. :-) This echo started off as an echo

Good to see your post Steven :)

I enjoy dropping in and out.:-) Good to see you fighting the good fight on Facebook.

Yes, caught news of the winner.. must be an exciting event. Those dogs are quite amazing.. mine would probably only continue if there was a cat in front to chase (2 yellow lab mix rescue dogs, and 1 black lab <grin>)

I enjoy dropping in and out.:-)

    Glad you do, Steven :)

Good to see you fighting the good fight on

Contrary to Ross's sentiments, I do feel very strongly about some things... You
should check out Andrea Santos's pages :) Neat stuff there as well.

And btw, I have to admit it was pretty cool when some people I hadn't heard from in ages contacted me there Lol..

    Take care,

Really seems like a great state. Northern Exposure has me wanting
to move there. (Though it was filmed in Washington...)

I still like early episodes of Northern Exposure as they really captured Alaska
and Yukon as I have gotten to know them over my 21+ years up here.

And this area is now easy to get to as the Alaska (Alcan) Highway has improved tremendously over the 20 years since I first drove it.

Those dogs are bred to run and they don't need to chase cats as an incentive. :-)

And now, the Iditarod is also over. For a change, Lance Macky
didn't win. I still check every so often, but not a frequently as
before. As I remember, we had nearly a six month spell (July-2010 - December-2010) with no traffic at all.

That approximates the time my system was down and then some. I yanked my system off=line last July and did not go back on until December or January.

I retired at the beginning of the year. Nw I should start doing
some of the things I've always wanted (e.g. another trip up the
    highway)

Call when you get to Whitehorse. I'm in the book.
