Check out the US 99 menu above for links to information about US Highway 99, after which the US 99 BBS is named.
Be sure to click on the Amateur Radio menu item above for packet BBSes, packet software, packet organizations, as well as packet how-to's. Also included is links to local and some not-so-local Amateur Radio Clubs.
Bill, I'd be interested in knowing how this works. I don't always like my current connectivity.
I almost envy you but we do have a place on Vancouver Island which we cancall
our own and which should keep us reasonably warm.
I used to go to Doc's Place and download QWK packettes via HTTP but I've
lost my userid/password and never asked about getting it reset.
First messages I've seen here in ages. I use Mozilla as a
newsreader and pickup this echo, and one other, via NNTP. This
site is checked every 6 hours, the other/primary site, but I don't
have this echo there, every hour.
It was 29F yesterday morning. We leave for Arizona the first week
of November to winter. I'm trying to find a ocean beach in Mexico
we can drive to when it get's down to the 30's in Lake Havasu at
night.
Works swell! :-) Works the same no matter where I am as long as I
can hit the internet. I have an account at Fidotel for this echo
and as a backup for the cooking echo. He, Fidotel, will disappear
for days at a time for no apparent reason. I have another account
at Waldo's for the cooking echo, but he doesn't carry this one and
I've never asked. He'd probably do it if someone asked. I used to
go to Doc's Place and download QWK packettes via HTTP but I've lost
my userid/password and never asked about getting it reset. I'll
send you email and attach a file for your perusal.
We bought another 5th wheel, an older/bigger one than we already
had. It's pretty much permanently parked in Arizona since we
bought another car and left it there, think of the RV as a
small/cheap condo with
water/sewage/trash/groundkeeping/parking/pool/WiFi included in the
rent. We fly to/fro Las Vegas and rent a car to get to/fro the
airport/RV park (about $60 for the 24hour car rental and drop fee
for the one-way rental, a 2 1/2 hour drive but we overnight in Las
Vegas before/after the flight). The original 5th wheel, and truck
for towing it, are still here in Anchorage. We use them in the
summer here in the form of a cabin that we park down in a little
place called Funny River from early June through late August.
YahHoo. Decided to go back and hit Doc's Place/fiddle. I
remembered my userid/password. Now I have a 3rd place to go if
things turn pear shaped.
I did get your email and will respond separately to that.
