Sure some of you will yelp at me.... but IMO booze is a survival food.

1 2 quart jug of apple juice
    1.5 cups sugar
1/4 teaspoon of bakers yeast (don't get wine makers too $$$)

hehehe... got yourself some hooch there... similar to how the inmates would make it when I worked in corrections. cept their version of hooch was the nastiest thing ever!

so how does your vesion taste?

    Cheers!

It's a very very sweet wine. Almost like an Ice wine if you use the
    purple welches grape juice.

The apple one is more dry and tastes like a bad pg. I'm currently doing
up another batch of Grape and I found some 100% raspberry juice at walmat
for $.99 for a jug so trying that.

Also doing some wash with just water, sugar, yeast which I will use to
make "irish cream" with condensed milk, chocolate, and vanilla. Be
expensive though the irish cream will cost about $4.50 for a litre of it.

(I'm in Ontario Canada and we pay HUGE tax on booze. ie 6 cans of Bud is
    $12.95 plus tax.)

Try throwing in some herbs to bitter it a bit. Up to you what you want to
use, but search some common herbs for a Gruit and go from there.
